There are many good cities in the world,
But you cannot find in any other the domes of Bijapur,
Talking to the sky.
From fortified wall to fortified wall,
Three times one inside the next,
It is a city of shimmering light.
Yes, Bijapur received injuries at the hands of time,
Yet despite all, it is a city of the highest courage.
For why should not Asif love its relics,
This city of his ancestors’ desire?
Bijapur is known for its medieval monuments, which are a unique form of architecture. The magnificent Gol Gumbaz is the main attraction of this city. It is the largest dome in India and the second largest in the world. Tourists are attracted to this city by the various monuments built by the Adil Shahi rulers, who ruled Bijapur between 15th and 17th century.
