BIJAPUR

Bijapur city is located at northern part of Karnataka in the southern region of India. Bijapur is the district headquarters of Bijapur District of Karnataka state. Bijapur city is well known for its historical monuments of architectural importance built during the rule of Adil Shahi dynasty. Bijapur is located 530 km northwest of Bangalore and about 550 km from Mumbai.and 384 km from Hyderabad. The climate of Bijapur is temperate with summers (April -June) being moderately hot and winters are cool pleasant (November  - February) it experiences south west Monsoon rains in the months of June – August.

HISTORY
Bijapur is known for its medieval monuments, which are a unique form of architecture. The magnificent Gol Gumbaz is the main attraction of this city. It is the largest dome in India and the second largest in the world. Tourists are attracted to this city by the various monuments built by the Adil Shahi rulers, who ruled Bijapur between 15th and 17th century.
